A Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety BSB41604 is now the benchmark OHS qualification for Safety Managers in most workplaces. Persons qualified in HR and also entrusted with the OH&S portfolio, should secure this valuable business qualification.  Other persons who should secure this qualification include:-

The qualification can also be secured by persons without previous safety experience wishing to pursue a professional career opportunity as a safety manager or safety consultant.

The course study and assessment can be done by distance learning in your own time and at your own pace in order to accommodate your present business and employment commitments. How Do I Gain the Qualification?

To gain the Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety BSB41604 you need to demonstrate competency in all of the 10 core units listed below.

Contribute to the implementation of the OHS consultation process - BSBOHS402A
 Identify hazards and assess OHS risks - BSBOHS403A
Contribute to the implementation of strategies to control OHS risk - BSBOHS404A
Assist with compliance with OHS and other relevant laws - BSBCMN421A
Contribute to the implementation of emergency procedures - BSBOHS405A
 Use equipment to conduct workplace monitoring - BSBOHS406A
Assist in the design and development of OHS participative arrangements - BSBOHS503A
Develop work priorities - BSBCMN402A
Manage projects - BSBCMN419A

How much is your investment?

A participant may not have any previous experience or qualifications in this particular area so they would need to undertake the whole course. The cost would be less for someone who has completed some of the units previously (and receives direct credit) or has been working in this field for a number of years (and applies for RPL).

Distance Learning - $1,800 ($180 per Unit)

RPL - $1,600
