Certificate IV in Government – Fraud Control PSP40604

The Certificate IV in Government - Fraud Control PSP40604 and the Certificate IV in Government – Investigations PSP41504 are gazetted minimal educational/ qualification requirements of the Federal Government under the Public Service Training guidelines. The Federal directive requires ALL persons who are involved in any part of the fraud process in the public service, (even reading or monitoring investigation/fraud reports), to hold this/these formal qualifications. This includes:- internal fraud investigators, fraud managers; section heads; field agents, external fraud investigation officers contracted to government, workers compensation / common law investigators and so on.

These two courses replace the single previous course Certificate IV in Government - Fraud Control (Investigations) PRS40499. (To view Federal Directive click here >  Commonwealth Fraud Control Guidelines). Fraud Investigations and general investigations can no longer be conducted by those without formal fraud and investigative qualifications. Under OH&S law, state government departments and authorities and local governments are compelled to adopt these standards as there are no state based standards. There are also agreements in most states under the Public Service Training and Skills Recognition (See Qld Government Departments Certified Agreement 2003)  adopting the AQTF courses under the Public Service Training Package and the other national packages.
